July 8- 22, 2009 (anticipated dates) in Fukuoka

This is the 10th year that Oakland has been invited to participate. Four Oakland Junior Ambassador (2 boys and 2 girls) will be selected from Oakland Public Schools.

To be eligible, the student must be born between September 1,1998 and August 31, 1999.

Application deadline is December 18, 2008.

High School Student Exchange

The 39th Annual Oakland-Fukuoka Youth Exchange is tentatively scheduled for July 23 - August 3, 2009 in Oakland CA. Applications for hosting are available here.

January 2010

January 19 - General meeting 7-9PM - Hazlyn Fortune's house

January 30 - New Year's Dinner at the Buddhist Church of Oakland

The annual Oakland-Fukuoka Sister City Association New Year's Dinner brings in the New Year with friendship and a good time. There are raffle tickets and prizes sold and given out at the dinner. More information here.
